Comparative Bullet Lead Analysis
Turns out, it’s kinda bogus:
Three people convicted of murder have been released from prison because their cases were tainted by a now discredited theory that bullets found at a crime scene could be linked to bullets found in possession of suspects.

Duh! Yeah! The tipoff in any courtroom is when the prosecution’s witness says the words “…..is consistent with…” . Uh huh, that means we can’t prove it was the same whatever, but it shares some characteristics that allow me to say “….is consistent with…” and hope what the jury hears is “….is the same….”.
Remember those words, that means they can’t prove the case, but hope the jury’s internalization of those words cause them to believe they said something they didn’t, mainly “yeah, he said it was identical”.

So are fingerprints. Most people don’t know that. Forensics isn’t science, and it really has little place in a courtroom.
