Today’s needlessly complicated firearms law question

Comes to us from subguns: Can you add wipes to a baffled sound suppressor?

  1. Kristopher Says:

The problem is that you can’t possess wipes without a registered suppressor, a completed form 1 to make one, or a manufacturer’s license.

I would be comfortable adding wipes to a registered suppressor to me personally.

  2. Kristopher Says:

Sorry …. copypasta error: Reverse the words registered and suppressor in the last sentence.

  3. Diomed Says:

My position is the same as it was when this question came up on Silencertalk a month or so ago: not unless you’re a manufacturer with a SOT.

ATF has been adopting a hard line on anything that could possibly be a manufacturing activity, and this looks a lot like that.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
