Those who beat their swords into plowshares usually end up plowing for those who kept their swords
Under its project “Transforming Guns into Hoes” (TAE), the Christian Council of Mozambique (CCM), the umbrella body for the mainstream protestant churches in the country, has, since 1995, collected and destroyed 700,000 guns held illegally, according to the CCM general secretary, Marcos Macamo, interviewed in Tuesday’s issue of the independent daily “O Pais”.
Guns for hoes. Heh.

Think of the much-needed cash that these poor African nations (redundency alert) could generate by selling this surplus at US gun shows.
Flooding the market with AKs would drive the price down to $150 per rifle and we would be awash in inventory.
Africa is poor due to ignorance and poor governance (thugocracies and kleptocracies) and not due to lack of resources.

It’s too many Christians forget where Their Leader said:
“Then said he unto them, ‘But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.'” Luke 22:36 (KJV)

There’s no market to flood here, except for kits (and you’d have a hard time selling those, given that caring for firearms seems to not be a priority for most Africans).
