How do them tea bags taste?
I’m happy Brown won for two reasons: 1) I don’t like either party with filibuster proof majorities. And 2) it could kill the health insurance bill (it would be ironic if Ted Kennedy’s death also killed the healthcare bill).
Also, I hope this sends a message to the folks with Ds after their names that they shouldn’t go ramming things down our throats because they can. I doubt it. And I’m sure the Republicans will get exactly the wrong message from this too.
I dunno about all the folks calling it a revolution. I think it’s more dissatisfaction with the current crop of boneheads running the .gov. After all, Brown is a north east Republican and probably more akin to Romney than anyone else. And Romney sucks.
Brown on guns:
Gun issues
I support the Second Amendment and believe that citizens have the right to keep and bear arms as a basic constitutional liberty. I support safe and responsible gun ownership.
OnTheIssues notes:
Allow citizens to carry concealed guns.
Require manufacturers to provide child-safety locks on guns.
Require background checks on gun sales between private citizens at gun shows.
Require a license for gun possession.
About as pro-gun as you can get in MA, I suppose.
Rich tells us about his evil black rifle project. He’s actually swinging by my place tomorrow so I can show him how to put it together.
Lots of stuff there, including a look at the Remington GPC and this hideous looking Thompson.
A Nashville man is suing an agent of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives after he was falsely accused of selling cocaine to a confidential informant.
According to documents filed with the Davidson County Circuit Court on Friday, Dewayne Howard lost his job as a forklift operator and was unable to find new work as the case against him dragged on for nine months. Charges were eventually dropped in September
A look at some TN gun bills. Mentioned the thumbprint bill and gun show bill that have no shot at getting out of committee a bit back. But there’s some new ones that I like. A bill to reduce the wait time for carry permits from 90 to 60 days.
And there’s also a bill that repeals statutory prohibition relative to possession of a firearm where alcoholic beverages are served. Cool.
Now, the British press notices the bible verses on Trijicon products. The Navy Times weighs in too.
Apparently, soldiers should make an effort not to offend people they’re about to kill. Meanwhile, ENDO notices another religious emblem on Trijicon products.
ETA: Just noticed the spelling error.
Pics at soldier systems. They note that while the new rifles appear to have the pins in the right place, that the pins seem to be sized differently. Once again, they are make something kinda sorta like what you want except it’s proprietary. HK is like Apple.
From POF-USA. While it looks cool, I don’t think shortening the barrel is the best way to utilize the 6.8 round.
Derek gets his pic taken with someone you might know. And files a report with lots of pics.
Field and Stream’s Gun Nuts file a report
Tactical life has lots of pics. And more here.
Shooting times has reports here.
Mas Ayoob has reports here and here.
And Pistol-Training has some pistol pics and a report.
Per, err, every source I’ve seen, Brown is in the lead so far.
Update: AP calls it for Brown.
Update: Coakley concedes. Fuck yeah.
Reuters: US indicts 22 on bribery charges related to gun sales, including executive at Smith and Wesson.
SHOT Show. I am amused that I cover events I am not at more than events I do attend. Get to these events and there is little time for blogging. And thanks to readers for pointers, particularly Mik. Any hoo, some stuff:
Shot Day 1 from the Shooting Times.
Field and Stream’s The Gun Nut does SHOT.
Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
