The real news here is “Pravda-on-the-Potomac” actually ran this story. And they talk about the earlier door-to-door round-up of registered firearms, although they forgot to put “encouraged” in quotes.
I’d be picking my jaw off the floor if they had compared the door-to-door confiscation to say the same exact thing that happened in New York after people registered there legally owned “evil black” self-loading rifles.
Register all the guns in CUBA??! That should take all of about…….two minutes, why two weeks? All I can say to the Cuban people is …..IF ITS TIME TO BURY THEM THEN IT IS TIME TO DIG THEM UP AND USE THEM! Take your country back and set the woorld right or you will be slaves for the rest of your days; LIVE FREE OR DIE! BUY MORE AMMO
I’d be all for registering my firearms in such a situation, assuming that you mean “registration” in the same sense as when you register artillery fire…

…or any of a number of incidents here and around the world that show that registration always eventually leads to confiscation.

The truly hilarious thing would be if the Cuban government kept its word.
Chicago, IL, USA, struggles to retain its draconian licensing scheme even as Cuba moves to allow for more lawful firearms ownership?

I think they will have difficulty in securing cooperation. Cuba has spent decades cultivating a disregard for the rule of law.
