In some snobbish circles, knowledge of the French language is supposed evidence of your erudition. Here we have a president widely considered brilliant, erudite, a great speaker, etc., and he messes up a word that came to us from French. Will the snobs get it?

Come on, it’s not as if corps is all that rare, even outside military circles. Corpsman shouldn’t be a stretch for an educated American. By snob standards, Obama is declasse. I wonder if the snobs will vote against him next time?
