Pulitzer my finger
So, The National Enquirer is ineligible for the Pulitzer. Apparently, for their story about Edwards’ infidelity that no one else would cover.
Speaks of journalism that the tabloid was actually even being looked at for the prize.

You would think that they could use the Obama rule and be eligible for something they would like to write in the future. Worked for the Peace Prize.

But…but…but…they pursued, developed and broke the story that a former Senator, former VP nominee, former Presidential candidate had an affair and produced an out-of-wedlock baby, when no one else would touch it. And they were right.
So, why should they not even be looked at for the prize? At the risk of being rude (which I really don’t want to be), it sounds like you’re suffering from the same prejudice as the Pulitzer Committee, Unc (notwithstanding the “magazine” technicality).

I don’t recall Newsweek’s Isakoff getting a Pulitzer for his story on President Bill Clinton’s affair in the Oval Office with White House intern Monica Lewinsky.Likely because Newsweek is not a newspaper, and also because Isakoff wasn’t gonna publish the story. Drudge did.
