Looks like the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Ownership is starting a petition to demand Starbucks not allow carrying firearms on their property. They should know the rules: Don’t take a knife to a coffee fight!
Anyway, Sebastian is right. They’re clamoring for some kind of relevance.

Number of carry permit holders in America: Millions
Number of people who sign internet petitions: thousands
I know which demographic I’d rather lose as customers.

Once again, the Brady Bunch gets themselves all hot, bitter, stirred up, frothed, and steamed that some Joe might actually use their freedom at a cafe. While it may seem like trouble is brewing for gun-owners, rest assured that this is just a tempest in a teapot.

Starbucks is headquartered in Washington State. Where we’ve had licensed concealed carry for close to 50 years and one of the highest rates of permit holders in the country. Where open carry is legal just about everywhere — and always has been. Where I’ve never (as in ever) seen a “no guns allowed” sign on _any_ type of business. Where numerous alternatives to Starbucks abound.
I don’t think this will get much traction.

Are they going after the donut shops next?
