Pricing yourself out
Overpaid teachers refuse to work extra 25 minutes. Get fired. Welcome to the real world:
Once market forces are taken out of play, that’s what happens. Public employee unions have mastered the art of pricing their members out of the market and people are tired of being forced to pay for it.

Reminds me of Reagan and the air traffic controllers.
The funniest part is that they will hire those teachers back, and they will still be unionized, and they will get to keep seniority.
Depending on the contract, they may all get big bonuses, if they will get to cash out
their accumulated leave and sick leave now.
So really, the firing is just a lock-out until the contract is signed.
Does anyone know if the state pays into the Unemployment Fund?

I wish they would do that here in CA.

Yup, the teachers will win in arbitration or in court with full back pay and most likely punitive damages.
