Weirdest thing you’ll see today
Kirsten Dunst dressed like an anime heroine singing Turning Japanese. In Tokyo. It’s good and bad all at the same time.

Looks like generic girl in generic sailor suit to me, not any specific character. Although, I was creeped out because it reminded me of when I was a loser anime fan many years ago.

@Dan nah man, you don’t have to be a loser to like anime.
Current favorite show: Durarara!!

Wow, that Yoko cosplayer was HOT.
“Current favorite show: Durarara!!”
Oh man, that show is awesome. I need to find a better fansub group than gg, though. They’re far from reliable.
Surely you’ve seen Baccano, too. Right? It’s stellar.
I can’t believe I’m talking anime here… how strange it is when world’s collide!

I had the strange experience of watching the US version of Godzilla in a Tokyo movie theater, along with about 3 other people. Cultural dissonance is a strange thing.

I don’t get it. So was she just bored and thought that would be fun? Not sayin I don’t like it…of course I do. I’d let her pee on my head.
Just curious what made her do…that. Funny.

@Kamina try Frostii they do some good subs though they are a little slow, I was going to watch it through Crunchy Roll to support the makers and stuff, but they just suck at translation.
Funny note the official names are “Baccano!” and “Durarara!!” so I guess their next show will have three exclamation points.

I guess the fact that I prefer the English dubs to the original Japanese kind of diminishes my Otaku “cred”.
Here’s Ms. Dunst singing in Akihabara:

Props for Baccano! by the way, that series is awesome; How can anyone not like the English dub for that, I say, it’s set in America in the 1920s and 30s!
D2K: thanks, that was LOL, but nobody uses “Japanimation” anymore…that’s really very 1970s retro.
Nowadays people diss or correct each others pronunciation of terms like “Manga” and “Otaku”.
I am actually trying to teach myself a little Japanese here and there, but I still like most English dubs produced post year 2000. (dubs from the 1990s and earlier did suck, though–I’ll concede that much)
I think that video went viral on YouTube so if the copyright nannies yank my link above, just search in YouTube’s search box for “Kirsten Dunst Singing Japan” and you should find multiple iterations of it.

I suspect trying to shut a video down at YouTube is like playing “whack-a-mole”: you’ll never run out of targets.
