If you are referring to the exposed trigger I know what you mean. However, these are single action pistols, and thus unless the hammer is cocked it will not fire – and those with exposed hammers have a strap preventing the hammer from being cocked.
I could no more put a Colt single action in a Kydex holster than I could put my Glock into one of those lovely rigs. Some things just have to be done the way they have always been done, just because.
