Ron Ramsey meets the TFA
Gubernatorial candidate meets the gunnies.
No one has been prosecuted under it and it’s unenforceable. But supporters still call it necessary to curtail crime.
Gutsy, entering the International Tactical Rifle Championship. More gutsy, with single shot specialty pistols. Even better, placing 12th of 28.
The Houston case offers a glimpse into the underworld of illegal gun trafficking and how Mexican drug cartels find much of their firepower in the United States. Straw purchases are made by people who are legally qualified to buy firearms, but those weapons then make their way into the hands of criminals, authorities said.
You know what would keep guns out of Mexico? Border control.
Folks looking to shut down a firing range in the basement of a middle school. They claim it’s over lead but the pro-gun folks doubt that.
Feds Raid Nashville’s Sabre Defence:
Federal law enforcement agents, led by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, descended on Nashville’s Sabre Defence Industries this morning and closed down the facility for at least the day.
Sabre manufactures firearms and firearm parts and accessories. It is contracted by the U.S. armed forces for parts and mounts for the M2 Browning .50-caliber machine gun and Minigun. In addition to its government contracts, it produces the XR15 rifle, non-standard M4 Carbines, and non-standard M16A4s.
Law enforcement officials were seen escorting employees one by one of the company out of their 35,000-square-foot facility on Allied Drive. Each employee was searched next to their personal vehicle, had their vehicle searched and, when cleared, were allowed to leave the premises. No individuals were witnessed being arrested.
After almost all of the employees had left the premises, agents brought in a trailer and backed it up to the company’s loading dock.
Reached for comment, federal law enforcement officials declined to comment on their actions and would not specify what the focus of their investigation is.
Rumors were Sabre was looking at acquiring Cavalry Arms polymer product line since CavArms was getting out of the firearms business.
Regardless, another AR maker getting hit by ATF. And probably due to technical violations again.
ETA: I’m guessing this pretty much shows that the Firearms Freedom Act didn’t stop anything.
Update: Rumors now of missing guns, parts, and employee theft. But just rumors.
Which has the fifth highest gun ownership rate in the world, a move to ban semi-automatic handguns after a mass shooting.
Got around to watching disk 2 of Jerry Miculek’s Practical Rifle. I mentioned disk one here. Basically, I liked it. It was basic and covered shooting position and magazine changes. It did so in a manner as to let you know strategically why you should do things in a particular match to help your results. It also focused on some gamer aspects, such as timing swinging targets. Worth watching.
Seems they’re not down with the global warming hysteria and may ask the EPA to re-think its carbon dioxide reduction policies, programs, and regulations until climate data and global warming science are substantiated.
A judge says Facebook gripes are protected speech.
Via Tam, who notes:
Which is cool and all, but what I’d like to know is how many people cheering that decision also believe that the same Founding Dads couldn’t envision the cheap Romanian SKS?
Heh.
We’re no longer owned by commies. Seems China sold an assload of our debt. And now it’s primarily owned by the Japanese. Again.
The first gun bill of the new session. Folks are calling this the year of the gun part 2.
Teen with a rifle that has a bayonet arrested. Kinda weird how much focus is on the bayonet. I guess drive by bayonettings are a problem?
Update: question answered by Daniel in comments:
They have to make a big deal out of the bayonet, since that is the only thing illegal there. Fixed blades over a certain length (I can’t remember what that length is off the top of my head) are illegal. Walking around with a rifle on the other hand is not.
Buying a whole new rifle because ammo is expensive:
It costs more to buy ammo than it does to buy a new gun.

Others are less than enthused about the idea of showing thanks to Starbucks by going there and telling them why.
Me? I’m probably just gonna take the family for some breakfast without saying a word and then send a nice letter to the corporate office.
Showtime is coming to shoot some video of me talking about the bill to keep teachers from teaching about homosexuality to young children.
The video should air on “Penn and Tellers B.S.
Overpaid teachers refuse to work extra 25 minutes. Get fired. Welcome to the real world:
Once market forces are taken out of play, that’s what happens. Public employee unions have mastered the art of pricing their members out of the market and people are tired of being forced to pay for it.
Did not realize that droid’s browser could do multiple windows. That is handy.
Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
