Barrett
A bit of a brouhaha over Barrett Rifles. Seems Barrett wants an easement to allow better access to its facilities. TDOT got snippy. So, the legislature is looking to pass a bill granting the easement. This has some folks upset because CEO Ronnie Barrett is a big time political donor and is reportedly legislator Donna Rowland’s boyfriend.

It’s a shame the same monkeys are not upset that TDOT will not just grant the easement.
It’s a wonder the monkeys are upset that government is having to act to correct government action. It’s as if they don’t believe in a Representative form of government.

From what I remember about this story (from a few weeks back), Barrett spent a considerable sum based on assurances from the TDOT who then ‘changed their mind’ and denied him the easement after the fact. So, whose the a-hole here? Hmmm…

I thought this was settled?
“The Senate Transportation Committee has approved a measure that would require transportation officials to grant an easement along I-24 long sought by Barrett Firearms, a company that makes high-caliber military rifles. ”

They won’t keep the promise (did he get it on paper?), so IIRC, he told them he would pack up and move out of the state. (and take his tax revenue and jobs with him) Guess he got their attention. Damn stupid politicians think businesses can’t relocate. Idiots here in CA still haven’t learned anything.
