How will the police differentiate between firearms owned by a man versus a woman at a house with a domestic violence complaint? Thew will likely sieze them all and let the judges sort it out later, leaving an unarmed woman in a domestic violence situation unable to defend herself if that becomes necessary.

Sounds like what will happen is that in all domestic abuse cases the police will automatically search the home looking for weapons because they cannot be sure the suspect does not own any. Then the police will confiscate the weapons “loosing” some if not all on the way to the station. When the suspect is found not guilty and wants his guns back the police will say no trying to hide the stolen weapons. The suspect will take them to court and spend a lot of money to only to find his weapons have disappeared. He then sues them wins an obscene judgement. Later the politicians in the legislature will bemoan the humanity of what the police have done but what they have enabled. Then to fix it they will make a law that says if you are even charged with domestic violence you loose all gun rights.

They won’t try, they’ll just take them all – just like they do when someone finds out their husband/wife had a felony conviction 20 years ago because the police come and take every gun regardless of who it belongs to. After all, if they’re even in the home, the felon has access, so the spouse effectively loses their gun rights too.

Its already the law here. In TN, if you are charged with domestic violence assault and the victim spouse wants them taken, the cops have to.

Sounds just like Maryland. They tried that nonsense here and got lots of traction.

For the billionth time, it’s “L-O-S-E”.
It’s about time for spelling and grammar death-squads to roam the land.

From reading the story, it appears that someone charged with domestic abuse is actually arrested for it too.
If they are arresting someone for domestic abuse, I think they have a duty to take the guns too.
