JMB Day
Passed and awaiting the governor’s signature:
Gov. Gary Herbert’s signature is the only hurdle remaining for a holiday memorializing the late Utah firearms inventor John M. Browning.
The Utah House voted 64-0 Wednesday to commemorate the Utah-born inventor on Jan. 24, 2011, the opening day of next year’s legislative session. It will come 100 years after Browning invented the 1911 .45 automatic pistol, which became the official sidearm for the U.S. military.

A DAMN site better than MLK DAY! JMB was a far more intelligent and profound individual than MLK. He contributed more to our culture too. Instead of whining about give me this and give me that, he developed the tools for the INDIVIDUAL to stand up and PROTECT THIER OWN RIGHTS themselves! HEll YEA! GO JMB!! BUY MORE AMMO…….AND A 1911!

As a person who owns only one Browning-designed firearm, a lovely little Colt Model 1903 in the delightful 32 ACP caliber, may I ask if this holiday will become an annual opportunity to obtain JMB designed firearms?
Obviously, the 1911 would be the first year’s choice, but after that the decision is almost bewildering.

Amazing to think, and a testament to the man, that when they mention pretty much the best pistol all time as his invention, and all I can think is “Thats you’re only example?”

Still, my beating heart.
I can only imagine how many centennial editions of the 1911 we will see next year.

I’ve 5 of his weapons. More if you count copes of same model.
I think a Browning Only day at the range would be appropriate.
