Quote of the Day
I became a conservative by being around liberals and I became a libertarian by being around conservatives.
Also via phelps.
I became a conservative by being around liberals and I became a libertarian by being around conservatives.
Also via phelps.
Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.

Surrounded by libertarians in grad school calling me “Stalinist” and “Marxist” while I was only a moderate Democrat turned me into a Socialist.

The saying goes “A liberal is merely a conservative who hasn’t been mugged yet.”
To that, I would add “a conservative is a libertarian who hasn’t been mugged by the government enough yet.?

Reminds me of an old quote about the political parties:
“There is something about a Republican that you can only stand him just so long; and on the other hand, there is something about a Democrat that you can’t stand him quite that long.”

Love it. And so true. It’s funny, my liberal and progressive “friends” think I must be some secret plant like James O’Keefe trying to find out how to pimp and get away with it because I don’t hate guns. No conservatives want a guy like me who favors drug decriminalization, gay marriage, and thinks the neocon agenda is the best thing to happen to terrorists since the suicide vest was invented. And my libertarian pals like most everything else about me, but can’t seem to get on board with a guy who accepts science for what it is when the science tells us we have problems that just won’t be fixed by market forces and Milton Friedman.
It can be lonely. But I’d rather be lonely than pigeonholed and rigid and a party loyalist.

Surrounded and bullied by libertarians…in grad school? They kept threatening to take over the government and leave you alone. I blame Bush!
You should look them up and thank them for unlocking your closet. Now, at last, you’re free.

That’s like what, turning a revolver into a pistol?
