Bane sent them an email over their opposition to unlicensed carry and gets a response.

I interpreted their response as “No, we’re not in this for profit! We swear! And everybody can have their opinion, it’s up to the individual to make that decision. We’re just trying to make it law so it’s only up to us to make that decision for you. What? No, why would you call us liberals?’

In the spirit of this administration, I propose legislation to force Insight Firearms to train 50% of its customers without pay, and without any prescreening or right of refusal.
After all, the 2nd amendment documents a fundamental right, and they believe their specialized training is essential to exercise that right; ergo, we have a right to their services.

I grew up in a rural area, and was familiar with long guns since my age was in double digits. My pistol experience was with a Crosman CO2 single-shot. And then I went to the city, and forgot all about that.
Fifty years later, I decided Concealed Carry was a good idea. In Minnesota, that means taking a course. I did, and I’m glad I did. I’d say taking a pistol course to get a CCW license is rather equivalent to taking a drivers’ course to get a drivers’ license. You can do without, but it works better if you take the course. If nothing else, it teaches you what kinds of things people will make a fuss over.

The difference between “Good idea” and “Good idea mandated by folks with guns” shouldn’t be that hard to see.

Mandintory licenseing would require training from folks like Insight Firearms which would, of course, mean lots of $$$$ for them. This is like a helmet manufactuer supporting mandintory helmet laws for motorcycle, bicycle, snowmobile, riders etc.
Thet dont care about safety, they just want more $$$$.
