It could take the military up to one year fix the Jesus rifles. ABC, who stole the story from blogs, still contends the codes are secret.

Mikey Weinstein and his ilk are welcome to go take a long walk off a short pier. When people of (vastly) minority views go making a pain of themselves over rinky-dink issues (and threatening the safety of others in the process), they not only make it harder for the rest of the people to believe they’re operating in good faith but it also encourages the anti-American tendency to want to roll back part of the majority-rule-with-minority-rights system. Other than stoking Weinstein’s ego, not a single benefit has come from this and a lot was risked.

Maybe the military gives as much of a fuck about this issue as I do.

I just hope ABC never finds out that during Passover all military ammo is loaded under rabbinical supervision.

It most likely has to do with the military logistics system for firearms. Soldiers and unit armorers are very restricted in what repairs and modifications they can make to weapons. Unit armorers are not even allowed to remove trigger or sear pins on M16 rifles. These modifications will most likely have to made at the general support level of logistics (level 4).

Pretty big deal for a non-story.
I wonder how long it’s going to take the jihadists to remove all religious symbols and references from their movement. I mean, it’s one thing to target and kill large numbers of innocents and create general havoc, but don’t go saying anything about God or I’m going to get pissed and want them punished.
