It’s going around, I posted this one earlier this week… http://gunscoffee.blogspot.com/2010/03/women-and-high-caliber-recoil-fallacy.html
Women shooting has always seemed fine to me, my grandmother was a state small-bore champion at one point, and my sisters learned right alongside us boys, and have been given rifles for Christmas just like everybody else.
Fred-
I went digging around and from what I found on The Firearms Blog I think Kari had a Maadi-Griffin .50 BMG. The other guns where a Sako TRG-48 in .338 Laupa Magnum, and a Barrett 99 in .416.
I know they’ve used a couple different .50s on the show in the past, but I wasn’t paying much attention last night. My dad said he thought it was a .416, especially since .50s are hard to find in Cali.
Was somebody else shooting the .416 then?
The only gun my wife shot before meeting me was a .22 rifle. Six years ago I took her to the range to shoot my Tikka .223, she thought it was ok but nothing great. A couple years ago I finally got her to go shoot my S&W MP15 and after a couple rounds she looks at me and says, this is awesome why would anyone want a bolt action. I couldn’t agree more and now she actually goes to the range with me once and a while.

From what I saw Kari’s gun had a very large guard on the front of the grip, looks like the Maadi-Griffin.
I’ll check the DVR to see who had the Barrett ,and who had the Sako.
During the show Kari held up all three rounds.
I think they leave the state to do most of their gun myths now.

In other words, it’s just like introducing men, or boys, or girls to shooting. Her description is similar to the NRA Basic Pistol teaching method.
