Android 2.1
I apparently woke up with the upgraded version this morning. Playing around with it, it has a few nice features:
Improved weather app.
Voice to text. Handy when sending a text message. I’m a fan.
The live wallpapers are slick. Very pretty. Useless. But slick.
Pinch zoom in and out for browser. Holy iPhone, Batman.
The new photo gallery is slick. Accesses all my camera and picasa photos from one spot.

So far so good, but I wish we had gotten the 5 home pages they talked about early on.

Most of the features in 2.1 have been available for quite a while through third-party apps, mostly free.
Now if they really wanted to accomplish something, they’d fix that expletive-deleted Bluetooth stack.

I forgot to tell you my wife got an Android. Up until then I didn’t think it was possible for anyone to love an Android phone more than you, Unc. She’s coo-coo for it.

@KCSteve
Search the market for an app called HelixLauncher (don’t get the one marked HelixLauncher 2)
Try that out for a while and see if you like it. It can go up to 7 screens total.

I am enjoying the update. I haven’t played with the picassa integration yet. That app I told you about doubletwist synched a large amount of photos to the droid and I have been playing the slideshow from the docking station.
