I’ve got an old Martini in 7mm/TCU which is just a 5.56 case opened up to 7mm. Seems to me that these days there probably is a powder that would make that a real interesting round.
Because the difference between the 2 is marginal at best. I consider the 6.8 a cartridge after the 7.62×39 family. Not a particularly long range cartridge but a hammer at close to medium range. I prefer something in 6mm to 6.5mm class.

Why did they compare a 6.8 fired out of a 12″ barrel with their new fancy cartridge fired out of a 16″ barrel?
