I used to be hard in his “Vermont Carry or Nothing!” camp, but here, ten years later and seeing that my side has been successfully copying the relentless chip-away-around-the-edges, come-from-all-angles-at-all-levels strategy used by the foes of freedom for the last forty-plus years, I think I’m softening my stance.

You know, I understand that. I don’t necessarily agree with it, but I understand it. I liken it to personal life experiences. For instance when someone pokes me on the chest because he is angry with me and I back up a step trying to avoid a fight. Then another and another and another. At some point I say “Don’t do that again.” I mean it. I’m dead serious. He does it again. I dump him. I roll him over and stick his head in a mud puddle and try my best to drown the pushy sonofabitch. Two young ladies get my attention and I let him up.
NO, I would not have been satisfied to poke him in the chest and back him up a step, and another, and another, etc., etc. until we reached the starting point. Oh yes, that happened.
That’s pretty much how I feel about this issue. Don’t do that again!

I’d be happy if Texas went that way. Yes I have a CHL, even teach the classes, but to me it’s a right, not a ‘permit’.
