Police show up and what do they do?
“This is a .22. And the police reloaded it for me,” said Turner.
Good for them.

Is it just me or does the picture in the article (http://www.kcci.com/2010/0420/23209771_640X480.jpg) look Photoshopped? The barrel looks funky, the front sight under the barrel…?

I don’t know what make/model of gun that is, but I think it’s the case extractor.

It looks like one of those cheap imports from years back. Maybe an RG 10 or something similar. As for the question, I’d have to go with wolfwood. You can clearly see what appears to be a loading gate at the rear of the cylinder so his assumption about it is likely correct.

Wolf,
Tam would know for certain, but I think it is a NEF top break. I remember selling 9 shot NEF/HR at the large box gun store I worked at throughout undergrad.
The NEF/HR top break .22s were WPBF but they were only $80.

On reconsideration, I want to change my guess to a Dutchie RG .22.
IIRC the NEF had a longer centerpin where one pull out and flipped open the cylinder and did not have the loading gate or extractor rod thingy.

Dear god … I wonder if she even owned a box of ammo?
Talk about an appliance: “This can be reloaded once I use it to fend a burglar off?”
Oh well … good on her for not taking crap from a criminal.

Agree with Wolfwood. The “under-barrel sight” appears to be the ejector. And there’s a loading gate at the rear of the cylinder – the screw for it is the easiest part of it to see.

I don’t care what it was. She is alive, and he is shot. The cops helped her reload? Hell yeah. Get that lady a .turdy ate.

Shot? Story says uninjured and the narration here comments that she missed. Still glad that she’s ok.
