I used to own one of the old Remingtons. It had the two-toned dull-grey finish. It was a fine shooting piece, but I was always afraid of dropping it or doing something equally dumb, so I didn’t keep it long.
Hehe, think I traded it for a 2nd Gen Colt, equally long gone. Oh the guns I should’ve kept!
I might get one. My father was a big Remington fan and my first guns were Remingtons. I still have two of them 30+ years later (got rid of the 20 gauge long ago) and they’ve never given me problems.
My very first 1911 was a frankenpistol built on a Remington frame. Wasn’t very accurate, but it was the only 1911 I ever owned that would reliably feed anything, including empty cases. (sniff) I miss it.
I think they really missed the boat by having no style whatsoever. They could have noticed that all Colt fanatics, and I mean fanatics, know each gun and make alot of noise about the great rollmarks of the past. Like something like the pre 70 series commercial would have been beautifull. With their own style of coarse. Hey, you got to make it a remington.

I don’t think any states let you open carry around your neck.

If they can retail it for $400-$500 then its cool otherwise I would probably go with Taurus, Para or Springfield

Not.
Remington was one of the companies that made 1911s during WWII.
I had custody of some when I was gunnery officer on a destroyer, in the 1980s.

They’re claiming around $700.

I’d still prefer a Model 53. The scaled-up Model 51 in .45 ACP the Navy was about to adopt in 1917.

Yep, got one dated 1943…

I believe the Remington in WWII was Remington-Rand, a typewriter maker.
Not Remington Firearms…

Damn. A blast from the past.

And yeah – Where’s the lanyard loop?

I’m hoping that Lyman will offer a sight for this.
Those who shoot at Blue Trail will understand why.
