Mossberg plinkster. Yeah, this and the Charger are another one of those I don’t get (like the Taurus judge). But whatever floats your boat.

I used to think the same thing about the Charger. But, actually, I think they make a fair bit of sense now. For example, I plan on being pretty well vested in the 10/22. We’ve got his/hers models and different customized ones for different purposes. The Charger is great because it lets you get a compact gun on the 10/22 action (which is familiar and something you have plenty of mags/accessories for) without paying for a SBR.
For example, I’m toying with getting a Charger with single point sling for days when I am too lazy to lug a carbine but may happen across some small game.
I’ve also heard that they are great for letting new shooters use. They seem to be easy to shoot well with a little red dot or pistol scope and look non-threatening.

It also looks like it has a threaded barrel, which by itself is worth the cost of admission for many.

You think the Charger doesn’t make sense?
Here in Oz, I can have a Ruger Charger if I maintain my pistol club membership – I CANNOT have a Ruger 10/22 rifle under ANY circumstances.
Just a thought experiment – if you own a Charger AND a 10/22, are you not in constructive possession of a SBR? After all, the actions are interchangeable are they not?
