Good for NRA
The Comical Squeal notes NRA got their lobby on:
Her message was clear: The gun lobby opposed an amendment to the bill that would have banned guns in businesses serving alcohol that derived less than half of its income from food sales. And the NRA considered lawmakers’ upcoming vote on the amendment “a weighted vote” – one that would help decide whether a member wins the group’s coveted endorsements or its feared opposition in this year’s elections.

I actually had dinner with Heidi (and others) right after the vote. The reason why she was afforded the opportunity was because McCord decided a few hours before the session started that he was going to offer that 50% amendment.
She didnt have time to talk to anyone because of his actions. It was completely out of the blue.

On reading that, and the comments, I can only quote my cat: “Yawnnnn. Hey, scratch my chin!”

In Before Some NRA-Bashers Claims This Was Actually Due to the Efforts of GOA/JPFO/Some Obscure Local Group and the NRA is Just Claiming Credit.

It seems that someone in the NRA has decided to actually flex the muscles that they have, and I say ‘Good job, it’s about time’!
I hope Ms Keesling also had a private visit with Rep McCord, explaining the error of his ways.
