I will presume those busting into my house mean me and my family harm and act accordingly
Do we really want to live in a country where when someone busts into your house at night you’re supposed to assume they might be cops?

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.

Anyone breaking down my door at 2 AM is subject to perforation. My GF, may parents, my brother, anyone entering my house uninvited in a violent manner, etc. is presumed to be dangerous if my door is broken in and my house violated.
Period.
But this goes farther than that:

Anyone breaking your door down in the middle of the night DOES mean your family harm, cop or not.

No matter who it is, if they outgun me and then my wife they will have to shoot the dogs as well, so at least we can all be burried together. Anymore info an the MO family and why they thought it necessary to raid the house late at night as opposed to an arrest warrant served in the day light?

blounttruth,
I believe that the warrant was ‘served’ at 8:30 in the evening, so I don’t think that would qualifyas late at night.
That being said, by 8:30 I’ve gotten Jr into bed (hopefully!) and am starting to wind down.
Reason intends to keep this in the public mind, and is trying to get the wife to speak out about the events of that night.
And Alan has it absolutely right …. anyone breaking down your door late at night does not have your best interest at heart.

Thanks Packetman, after reading the full article I see that it was in fact at 8:30PM. My next question would be why the SWAT team? I am still waiting for them to come out and explain that his record was one of violence and insanity as it would be a first time I have read that a pot head was motivated enough to be violent.

To be fair, the warrant described a drug dealer, not a casual user. But (as I read somewhere) the warrant was on the verge of being out-of-date, so it’s more likely that the ‘evidence’ would be gone, therefor requiring more urgency.
Now what really chaps my ass is that the warrant was supposedly obtained through a ‘tip’ from a known drug dealer. Was he trying to eliminate competition, or was he trying to save his ass from a longer sentence?
Judges should never, never sign warrants based on criminal statements without corroborating evidence.

If it is a cop, your dog is as good as dead.

This is why we need high-cap rifles, in case it’s asked again.

If those worthless pigs did that to me……
3n2
Their biggest concern would be ….. will my wife watch my head explode….. or will I watch my wife’s head explode.

@blounttruth’s comment: “I am still waiting for them to come out and explain that his record was one of violence and insanity as it would be a first time I have read that a pot head was motivated enough to be violent.”
That has to be the greatest thing I’ve read all day.
