“the 1911 is actually better in .38 Super than it is in .45 ACP.”

I’ve 1911s in both .45acp and .38SA. The .38’s recoil seems a tad sharper. I can get back on target easier with the .45 than the .38.
Of course 9+1 of .38 is a nice argument.
I love my 1977 vintage Colt Combat Commander chambered in Super .38 and during the ammo crisis it was easier to find ammo for it than for my 9mm or .45 ACP pistols.
