Bushmaster ACR: My Thoughts
In my video with Bushmaster, they told us all about it. Now, my thoughts. First, it is ergonomically pleasing. I like it’s set up. Also lie the fact that it’s bolt release can be activated with your trigger finger and that the charging handle is toward the front. Both of these features are simply superior to the design of the AR-15 in terms of ergonomics.
Also, the ACR had an amazing out of the box trigger. I even asked if it was a special trigger and was told that was standard. Little creep and a nice clean break.
The only con for the rifle is the price point. Saw one at Coal Creek Armory yesterday for about $2,400. For that price, you can get three AR-15s.

“The only con for the rifle is the price point.”
–> How about the weight? That has to be a negative point in the analysis. It weighs about as much as a SIG 556 and makes my KAC SR15 feel like a featherweight.

The trigger did break cleanly, which is always nice out of the box.
Yep, the ACR is heavier. Shooting and transitioning between targets with an ACR feels slow and lumbering compared to my lighter AR’s (especially those with a compensator).

Not only that, but you can get two super awesome ARs with really great aftermarket triggers and decent optics.
