Virginians are weird. Give me liberty or give me death and all that…you can carry a gun in city hall…but god help you if you wanna use a radar detector or discuss cannabis policy in school.
Every once in a while I think about crossing over the river and living there…and then I wise up.

I’ve seen the video and have a good idea what was on the flier.
I just wish a teacher in high school would have shown them to us. Police are taught to intimidate, so why can’t we educate kids on their rights?

I’ve seen that series on YouTube; seems like a perfect primer on actual application of one’s Constitutional Rights, though I also hope the teacher explained to them how the Supreme Court has ruled that people under age 18 have less rights than legal adults 18 and older (i.e. campus cops can search your locker, etc).
It’s Orwellian that a gov’t teacher was suspended over this.

Well don’t tell the PTA, but I showed that video in the government class I taught this past semester. Gasp!

My God! Is there no shame? How could these people even think of telling students about their constitutional rights? Jesus Christ! Next thing you know someone will want to exercise their rights, then where would we be? My God! Liberty might break out. We can’t be having that shit.

While I am not exactly pro drug I do disagree with how the school board is handling the situation. Everyone needs to know their rights. Not just the ones the police read to you.

‘You won’t believe what we are learning in Government. They are teaching us how to hide our drugs,’
That is an accurate representation of the first Flex Your Rights video (I haven’t watched the new one they just released). I wouldn’t show it to my kids. Plenty of ways a video like that could have been made, but that one turned out to be a “How not to get busted with your stash” video instead of a “know your rights” video.
