Nearly everything that happens is “unexpected” or “surprising” which gives one to wonder why we have “experts”.

derivation of expert and an alternate but more accurate definition.
Derivation: ex, x=unknown quantity or quality; spert, alt spelling spurt= equal a drip, but a drip under pressure, such as spit, or holding one’s finger over a dripping faucet until pressure builds and eventually “spurts” out. Therefore and expert can be accurately described as “an unknown pressurized drip”.
Definition: The requirement for expert status is to be from out of town and to be the very last to find out, while talking quite confidently about subjects one has no knowledge of.
