and the banned played on
Feeling antsy about the coming civil rights victory regarding the Chicago gun ban, the local officials have plan b:
“Much of the reason gun dealers haven’t opened shop is because is because if they were to do so, as soon as someone were to purchase a handgun and take it out of the shop, they would be in violation of the city’s ordinance and subject to arrest,” Georges said.
She said the city could ban firearms dealers altogether or make gun shops subject to extremely tight regulations with requirements such as reporting what kind of guns they are selling and to whom they are selling them, perhaps even requiring such reports daily.

Richard “Shortshanks” Daley:
“We’re not talking about hunters and gun collectors, but this whole idea that America should be governed more by guns than by the law. That really disturbs me.”
Fine, I hereby demand that no employee of the City of Chicago own any firearms in the course of their employment.
Let the Mayor’s bodyguards use rocks and sticks and all the guns that Mayor Daley buys in Michigan have to be turned over to me.

Once the ruling happens, people can buy guns outside of Chicago and bring them in, however. It will make the city council’s attempts at outright banning moot.

Do they really want this to be challenged in court as well? You know what the result will be? That a city or state cannot deny the establishment a firearms dealer from operating in a region where there are no other firearms retailers with a certain number of miles, making gun dealers in certain regions legally bulletproof unless they commit a serious crime. Imbeciles.

May Alan Gura retire a very, very wealthy man after he’s thru with Chicago’s ignorance and stubbornness. If only it could be taken from Daley’s slush fund.

“Juliet Leftwich, legal director for the San Francisco-based Legal Community Against Violence”
Are you kidding? Her name is Juliet Leftwich? Vin Suprynowicz couldn’t come up with a better name for a gun banning villain.
HAH!
