A civil rights victory
The signs barring the carrying of concealed weapons inside Schnucks quietly came down earlier this month more than six years after they first went up in the grocery chain’s Missouri stores following the passage of a state law allowing individuals to carry concealed weapons.
Lori Willis, a Schnucks spokeswoman, said the company’s policy change came about during a routine review of its policies.
Schnucks has not barred weapons in four other states Indiana, Iowa, Mississippi, and Tennessee where the company has stores and where there are concealed-carry laws on the books. And there haven’t been any problems in those states, she said.

Well, its about time! Kroger was talking about this for its new stores in Ohio just after thier CCW passage. WE THE PEOPLE from many states, mostly in the south, inundated them with emails and threats of BOYCOTT if they did that to Ohio. THEY backed down. Go back a few years and look, we nearly put Kmart out of Business. MESS WITH THE DEER YOU GET THE……..HOOVES.

“Schnucks”?

Schnuck’s fought concealed carry in MO for years, then immediately put the signs up.
Pretty ironic, when you consider one of their Memphis butcher shop employees ran amok a few years ago and started cutting up customers. He encountered a CCW in the parking lot and came to an immediate halt. No shots fired, and the employee was more than happy to get on the ground.
I still won’t do business with them.

Wait…there weren’t wild west shootouts in the stores in Indiana, Iowa, Mississippi, and Tennessee? Who woulda thunk it?

C’mon Horse Thief, they witnessed those “wildwest shootouts” on TV westerns and moives. It must have been that way when citizens exercised their right to armed self-defense.
Of course, “blood in the streets” at the hands of legally armed citizens has been predicted for years when carry laws are enacted or freedoms for the same are expanded. Even though, that hasn’t happened, the anti Bill of Rights bigots keep the (blind) faith and keep on with their prejudiced predictions.

There’s really a store named “Shnucks”? I refuse to belive it.

I’ve never heard of Schmucks, but I won’t be stopping in one should I ever have the misfortune of being in the presence of one.

Got one right down the road from us, been going a little farther down the road to the Dierberg’s where there’s no problem. I’m not a CCW holder due to financial constraints, but it’s nice to know I’m somewhere where they are allowed, so potentially someone there has got our collective backs.

Schnucks are a bunch of anti-gun zealots. The company and its owners have always supported EVERY piece of anti-gun legislation, and EVERY anti-gun politician in Missouri.
If they’ve “changed” their policy, it’s because their business is suffering because of that policy, not through any change of heart.

I carry my gun in Schnucks all the time, then I go buy my groceries at Hy Vee.
