   But it’s not just the press referring to them as “high powered assault rifles”, the chief used “assault rifle” too.

   Really, what makes the term bad is that we gun folk use the term as well, which is what lends legitimacy to the term.

   Personally, I always call the poodle-shooters, due to the low caliber and lack of stopping power. For some reason that hasn’t caught on in the legacy media, though.

   Skip, you rock! Back when I had a patrol rifle, my first one was a Remington 760 pump in 30-06. Only had a 4-round magazine, but we were taught to be able to do the job with those four rounds.

   If the cops are going to go with the 5.56 NATO, they would be better advised to get the Remington 7615 Patrol Rifle, which uses AR magazines, and the action is familiar to every cop who has used a pump shotgun, which is most of them.

   You mean they didn’t have ARs?

   It’s not like they are hard to find! And surely since LEOs get discounts (alot of taxes are waved) every LEO should have one! Kind of like bullet proof vest, I’d expect them all to have it, even if the cost came out of their own pockets!

   The “only ones” buy their own AR with their own money? LOL! They want your tax dollars to pay for or to confiscate the one YOU payed for.

   They sent them to the Mexican military who sold them to the drug cartels?
