What exactly did these losers lose? Take another look at your post on Chicago’s first attempts at gun control post McDonald. They have retained the ability to continue to deny arms to their citizens and because of Heller and McDonald we now face decades if not centuries of litigation to set it aright, if possible. Of course, there is only path that really works. The path our founders took.

Will they (Chicago and New York) have to change their laws? yes… then they lost.
Will they be spoiled brats and change the law to something only slightly less restrictive? yes… that is not very surprising
Though it does amuse me that some people think a court case about one or a few specific laws would cover every conceivable gun-control tactic and thus rule them as voided. Let me know if there has been a single case that resolved every situation regarding a right found in the BoR.
The Founders created the 3 branches of government. They knew that one branch would overstep its authority and another would have to step in… that is why we have SCOTUS to begin with. It will take time and multiple lawsuits to sort it all out. Using the judicial system is the path our founders wanted us to take.

Some people want instant gratification. If they don’t get it, then they want a revolution. What they really need is to grow up.
