Gun culture rising in China, where guns are banned.
I love conspiracy theories for entertainment value. I can’t wait to see what theories pop up because the US government has a website devoted to debunking conspiracy theories.
Paul Helmke notes the NRA works with Democrats too.
There’s some controversy because a woman running for house seat (who is also a model) has some ‘racy’ photos out there. Gee, a model doing racy photos? I am shocked. Well, Oatney has the ‘racy’ photo. If someone gave the rope a tug, it’d be racy. As such, it’s more typical model portfolio fare.
Quoting Penn Jillette twice reminded me.
On travel, I left my beloved Gillette Fusion at the room. Oops. I replaced it with the Gillette Fusion Power. I wouldn’t have imagined that its “soothing micropulses” would have made a bit of difference. But, surprisingly, they do. Glide is improved.
Next, the Colgate 360 toothbrush with tongue/cheek/gum cleaner. It is awesome. I don’t know that my mouth felt cleaner after brushing. The cheek/tongue cleaner thing is awesome.
Once again, Penn Jillette:
When I disagree with Obama, people always say, “Well, you’re a big Bush guy then.” And I’m like no, I didn’t like Bush either. I disagree with Bush and Obama on all the stuff they agree on, which is pretty much everything. They both want to kill people, they both want the government to be bigger, and they both want less freedom for individuals.
Robb Allen has started an interesting discussion of the death penalty:
the concept of ‘humane’ has been conflated with ‘clean’. 00 Buck from a 12 gauge behind the ear is quick and as painless as it gets. But it’s messy. Guillotines are the same. There’s no pain and it’s over practically instantly. But there’s a loose head and plenty of blood.
Instead of doing it fast and efficiently, we’ve convoluted the process with a series of injections trying to somehow to make ourselves feel better about the process of ending another’s life in as pain-free manner as possible.
Humane seems to mean that it looks clinical to outsiders.

Ralph E. Karanian, COO of Kimber, has a letter to the editor of the Yonkers Tribune noting that microstamping is stupid.
Good:
Finland rejects ban on semi-automatic weapons
Finland will not impose a full ban on semi-automatic weapons, rejecting an inquiry commission proposal following two deadly school shootings.
Via MKS, comes 52 blogging tips. My advice to them is that people like to click not read. Your list is too long and I didn’t read it all.
This ranks right up there with she had it coming in terms of evil in my book.
At least, in AZ:
The company that owns most of Southern Arizona’s Pizza Huts has reversed policy and is allowing customers to carry firearms into the restaurants if they are legal possessors.
Patrick McKinney, vice president of operations for Tucson-based Pizza Hut of Arizona, said he began reconsidering the company’s policy of prohibiting guns after reading a newspaper article about the state’s new concealed-carry law.
All these businesses allowing carry seems to be a trend. No doubt, the Brady Campaign will launch an assault.
homeland Security chief says the US should monitor Al Gore’s internets to stop terrorism and stuff.
Texas Democrat wins nomination for the US senate, and the party establishment is not a fan. So, in fine Democrat tradition, they will likely ignore the results of the election and do what they want, which is not support her. But this ain’t a post about that. It’s about the candidate. You see, the candidate thinks Obama should be impeached and is tied to the racist Larouche movement (racism being another fine Democrat tradition). One problem with that narrative is that Kesha Rogers is a black woman. Heh.
if you want to find utopia, take a sharp right on money and a sharp left on sex and it’s straight ahead.
Doubt you’ll find utopia but I can dig it.
That’s the question. Someone in the Clinton administration listed KKK and NRA “Bad guy orgs”.
DNR says no machine guns on their ranges. And ‘rapid fire of semi-automatic firearms’ is also prohibited. How fast is rapid?
Also, internet buzz is that the range officers are telling people that suppressors are not allowed. Kinda silly because suppressors are one of the more effective safety devices and prevent hearing loss. Reportedly, this is coming from DHS. Odd.
Been out of pocket. Answered some emails. Marked all read in google reader. Miss anything important?
Investigators in NY go under cover to arrest people for illegal knives. In the fine tradition of going after business, they go to the Home Depot and determine that those knives that are sold in 50 states are too dangerous for NYC residents. And this:
The stores – and four others – have already agreed to stop selling them, relinquish their inventories, turn over all profits from selling the illegal blades over the past four years and contribute to a public awareness campaign.
Seems a big steep.
Her AR-15 bra made Rolling Stone. I don’t know that it’s a SBR because, well, it’s not a gun. No receiver.
Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
