Four against civil rights
A look at four justices voting against your constitutional rights.
And, seen at Kevin’s:
Interestingly enough in the last several years there have been four big SCOTUS cases which IMHO, really define our freedoms and personal liberty Kelo property rights; Citizens United free speech; Heller 2nd amendment and now McDonald.
I hear a lot from liberals about how the right wants to curtail freedoms, we’re fascists yet when I look at where the liberal Justices ruled or dissented in those aforementioned cases I think it’s pretty clear who are the real curtailers of freedom and liberty.
After all when the State can take your property, restrict your political speech and disarm the populace, you really don’t have much left in the way of freedom.
Yes, pretty much.

I’d add Morse v. Frederick (aka Bong Hits 4 Jesus), where we find out that while students do not “shed their constitutional rights when they enter the schoolhouse door,” They are required to leave them at home just in case they meet the school principal on the street, off of school grounds.
It’s pretty narrow though. If he had made a banner like “Go Wolvereans!” or something, it’s doubtful that Roberts, Scalia, Kennedy, Thomas, and Alito would have carved out an exemption to the First. Of course, that case would never have made it to the supremes. It seems that the state has such a compelling interest in keeping kids off drugs that government employees have super censer powers wherever they roam.
I keep this case handy to show that even if we win in recent RKBA cases, we’re still going to get a few boners.

Hey, give the liberals some credit, they like their own freedoms. In particular, they will let nothing stand in the way of the all important freedom to let people scrog whomever, whatever, and whenever they choose, and then have the state pay for the consequences.

The list also leaves out Raich and the Hamdi line of cases, where the conservatives of the court didn’t come out looking nearly as good.
