Chicago’s new gun laws in effect
And I don’t see how they can stand:
The new ordinance bans gun shops in Chicago and prohibits gun owners from stepping outside their homes, even onto their porches or in their garages, with a handgun.
and:
Guns also will not be allowed in hotels, dorms and group-living facilities.
I can actually see dorms and group living facilities standing, provided they’re at state/city institutions. But not the hotel.

The NRA already won a case – in San Fran Freakin’ Cisco of all places – that public housing management could not demand occupants give up their 2nd Amendment rights to obtain public housing. So not only hotels, but also government run housing in general is likely to be zoned for successful civil rights in practice.

That’s okay. I wasn’t planning on staying in any hotels in Chicago anyway.

Not even porches or garages…great, so not only do they flagrantly violate the 2nd Amendment, they have contempt for property rights as well.
