The Last Top Shot

Well, for me anyway. If you want the play by play, Les has it. I was only watching it beyond the first episode because I know Caleb. And for the shooty goodness. Frankly, the show was kinda ho-hum. They could do two eliminations per show, double the people and that would mean more shooty goodness. But it’s about 85% drama, 15% shooty. And, frankly, makes the shooters look like a bunch of crybabies.

But not Caleb. Caleb did the right thing, I thought. Caleb came across as the better man and Adam came across as a whiny little, prison-bred bitch with his talk of rat-finks. Caleb never agreed to join his little club and was not obligated to them. Adam thinks Adam’s backstabbing and conniving is OK. Being called out on it, not so much. And his third grade jokes were all class. Fuck that guy.

As to the shooty goodness, the challenge was pretty cool. And quite the nail biter. And it was close.

I’m done watching it because Caleb is out. Didn’t care for the format.

Caleb talks about it here.

I still think there is enough good shooters that this is still worth a watch. JJ, Blake, Denny, and Kelly all look to have some serious skills. In the previews for next week it looks like Denny puts on quite a show with the Colt revolvers. I’m still going to give it another chance, despite Caleb’s absence.

It’s a reality TV show. I’m certainly no expert, but I think these have been happening for right on a decade now, and I doubt they’ve changed very much over that time span.

Ain’t much of a reason to cry foul about anything that happens on them. I haven’t been paying attention to reality TV shows, but just listening to people in public tells me all I need to know about what happens on them.

I find Adam absolutely wrong in calling Caleb a rat. As you already noted, Caleb was under no duty of silence to Adam, because he never agreed to be part of the plan. Caleb was therefore completely free to act as he thought best. That is always the risk when you are conspiring and want to bring in co-conspirators.

Aside from all that, hearing Adam use the term “rat fink” so many times… it makes me wonder if he has personally been the subject of such adolescent name calling.

I caught that episode last night. Caleb was magnanimous in defeat (not that I think there was much competition to it, no slight intended- it was the game itself I have issues with) and manned up. I’m still scratching my head over what this so-called Adam’s beef was, aside from the fact that he’s a whiny, testosterone-depleted little bitch who obviously has some problem with people shorter than himself who served in what he considers a ‘lesser service’. Perhaps he needs some Desitin for that redass he’s got; maybe he was peeling potatoes or scrubbing toilets when they gave the personal hygiene lecture in boot, because his skivvies are obviously full.

Good job, Caleb. I was proud of you.

    I know it’s probably a bad idea…but…

I think I may submit an application to be on the next show…as a regular guy

I will not be watching. I can see a collection of pussies out my front door, and at least they all have four legs.

I do not find myself entertained by watching bad behavior on shows that encourage it.

    Good on ya, Caleb.

Enh – I showed up for Caleb, but am sufficiently interested in knowing how Kelly, Denny, and Tara come out to keep watching. Hell, Blake may be a showboat, but he’s kinda interesting too

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
