Keep your booger-hook off the bang-switch
And don’t point guns at your leg:
Witnesses told Brogdon brought a .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun to sell at work. He shot himself as he started to unload the gun in the passenger side of a truck.

Anytime you load or unload a firearm the weapon may discharge even if your finger is off the trigger.
I am amazed how often I hear “just unload it in the parking lot” at public ranges.

I have no idea if this guy knew what he was doing or not. Accidents can happen and lapses in judgement can too.
When I am around other gun guys, I’ve taken to having them supervise me when I handle a firearm administratively. I do the same to them anyway because I’m pretty sure being shot sucks.

Hey, at least they didn’t say it “went off” like it’s alive or something. That’s a big step for the MSM right there.
It’s yet another example of how you only hurt someone if you violate two or more rules. If he had kept it pointed in a safe direction, there wouldn’t have been any problem beyond a loud noise and some cursing.
