Monkeys and machine guns
The Taliban training monkey terrorists to attack US troops?
At the federal level. Another gun law that does nothing but make life difficult for the law-abiding.
And I don’t see how they can stand:
The new ordinance bans gun shops in Chicago and prohibits gun owners from stepping outside their homes, even onto their porches or in their garages, with a handgun.
and:
Guns also will not be allowed in hotels, dorms and group-living facilities.
I can actually see dorms and group living facilities standing, provided they’re at state/city institutions. But not the hotel.
Over at KNS, they mention if you make a political donation of at least $10 to Donn James who is running in the Fightin’ 8th and you get a chance on a M&P 15X Tactical Rifle 5.56mm/.233 (sic) Remington 16 inch Barrel 6-Position Stock Folding Rear Battle Sight. And ask about the legality. I dunno about election or gambling law but, yes, you transfer a firearm that you’ve won provided the transfer goes through a dealer.
As flawed as the Chicago regulation is, the lawsuit challenging it is entirely over the top. It disputes virtually every aspect of the law as a violation of the Second Amendment and poses ludicrous hypothetical situations to show that everyone needs a gun.
Well, I hope so. For some more crying, read the rest.
First, he calls the gun blogs fanatics because they dare point out that he was wrong about the whole Mexican Gun Canard. Now, he calls the milbloggers milkooks.
I did not watch the gubernatorial debate because I know what they’re going to say. But others did.
Mentioned someone suing to open a gun store in Chicago. John lets us know that another party to the suit is suing to get restitution for guns confiscated.
I was unable to watch Top Shot live and recorded it on the DVR. But I already know how it ends. Damn bloggers and facebookers.

Celebrating McDonald was the top topic on blogs. But gun controllers seemed almost completely absent. A good read which shows why we win:
The strong reaction last week by gun rights supporters exemplifies the grassroots nature of how news stories often gain traction in the blogosphere. Be it gun control, climate change or gay marriage, individuals who care passionately about a subject often come together quickly and strongly online. And in many cases, that passion has an ideological bent as well.
Speaking of the governor’s race, Zach Wamp gets an endorsement from Ronnie Barrett. Yes, that Ronnie Barrett:
Whenever Tennessee sportsmen and gun owners needed a friend in Congress, Zach Wamp stood strong with us to protect and defend our 2nd Amendment rights, that’s why he’s always received an A rating from the National Rifle Association” said Barrett. “We need that same strong backbone and consistent support from our next Governor, and I’m convinced that Zach Wamp will be that man. I strongly encourage all Tennessee sportsmen and gun owners to support Zach Wamp for Governor
In Tennessee, we’re gonna get a new one soon. Gun rights were made an issue in the race because some cracker pointed out that a man who would eventually run for governor (Bill Haslam) had joined the anti-gun Mayors Against Illegal Guns group. At first he ignored the issue then, in an attempt to score some points, joined the NRA and commented on how he just bought his son a shotgun. And he sent around some flyers telling us how pro-gun he is.
One of his opponents isn’t too happy. Ramsey called Haslam out on the issue of guns:
Ramsey’s release says Haslam helped lead one of the country’s most radical gun control groups, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s “Mayors Against Guns”.
And the press says that is false. Because Mayors Against Guns isn’t about banning guns. And the local news knows this because they asked the group. You know, instead of looking the group’s record on guns. But, no, Haslam did not help lead the group. I don’t even think he went to a meeting.
More from Tom Humphrey.
And the local news rag endorses Bill Haslam. That’s the most not-shocking thing ever.
Comparing Richard Daley to George Wallance:
In an afternoon press conference, Daley announced that the city would enact new ordinances making it as difficult as possible to purchase and own a gun in Chicago. During his rant, he promised to seek ways to attack the right to bear arms from the supply side, vowing to go after manufacturers and crack down on gun shops and gun shop owners. He also noted that only “responsible adults” would be allowed to purchase or possess guns and left open the extremely disturbing question of who gets to determine which citizens are responsible and therefore ‘worthy’ of civil rights.
After all, when you hear Mayor Daley proclaim his intentions to subvert the clear ruling of the Supreme Court, it is hard not to remember Governor George Wallace standing in the doorway of the University of Alabama’s Foster Auditorium blocking access to African-American students Vivian Malone Jones, Dave McGlathery and James Hood after the 1954 Supreme Court ruling in Brown v. Board of Education.
What’s the fast you’ve driven? About 160 when I was younger and dumber.
More recently though, I managed to scare the crap out of myself. Driving the tactical car home one night, when (like always) some one is in the passing lane driving beside another car. Any way, the right line clears up so I decide to go around the bonehead. And, predictably, bonehead speeds up. So, I punch it, zip by and look down to discover I was doing 130mph. On Pellissippi Parkway at about 6:00 in the evening. That was pretty frightening.
If you’re doing, like, 80 in a 65 and get pulled over, then you can tell the officer you had to poop or you were running late or something. And they may go easy on you and not cite you for reckless driving. But if you’re doing 130, you’re going to meet several officers, probably eat some concrete, then go spend a night or two in the slammer.
Now, I monitor the speed a bit more closely.
Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
