As for the (R)primary, he is about as good as any of the others……..I plan to vote for Donn Janes. He is an (I)teaparty active and pro constitution. Thats the guy I want in Office…………………..but i would take this one as a second choice;)
“Marceaux is a gun-hating doofus, according to the words he spoke in his now-famous video.”
— That is not correct. You misunderstand him. He is saying that permits should be recalled b/c they should not be required. Anyone would be allowed to own a gun, and in other videos and interviews he has stated that you would be fined $10 for not carrying a gun.
In any case, I just want to know what the heck “slavery at traffic stop” is!
HA! I SO want this guy to win. We had a time laughing at these videos on the internet radio show that I do (the DrunkenRoundTable, Warning: not gun related and NSFW!). I have decided that since, for the most part, congress acts like an idiot farm this guy would fit in perfectly!
The two friends that I do the radio show with are both flaming liberals so it was up to me to attempt to translate his talking points into something that they would understand. The guy definately has SOME extreme views, but most of what he says just sounds extreme because of his (lack of) communication skills. I don’t think that many of us believe the 2A protects the rights of the insane to have guns (I am personally on the fence about felons, but probably would come down on the NO side). Also, I’m not sure what he’s talking about with the traffic stop thing, the best guess I could come up with is he thinks people are being stopped by cops without an articulatable cause and arrested when the cop figures out what he can charge the person with. I wasn’t aware that this was a widespread occurance and/or that they were getting away with it (Or maybe it is something else and I’m just not seeing it).
I took a little offence to how heavily he pushed the whole “I am a Marine Force Recon” thing making it seem like its a big deal when in reality he was only in from 71 to 73 and only obtained the rank of L/Cpl. But boy does he wear the BADGE with the Eagle Globe and Anchor on it and his suit jacket (see his web page) has 24 years worth of hash marks on the sleves. As a former Marine myself (6 years, Cpl) I just don’t think that it’s right.
The ONLY reason this guy is getting media traction is because liberals and Democrats are making him a proxy for their views of what Republicans and conservatives are. They are laughing *at* him, not his views or anything else. That’s despicable.
A non starter. He may have good principles but it’s hard to tell. One must have good principles AND the ability to articulate and defend them. This guy can barely form a sentance. He reminds me of a kindergartener making his first speech in front of the class. Even in the ad, where they had the opportunity to do retakes and edits, he comes off no better.
Sure the whole thing isn’t a joke, put on by theOnion?
“And I said, I don’t care if they lay me off either, because I told, I told Bill that if they move my desk one more time, then, then I’m, I’m quitting, I’m going to quit. And, and I told Don too, because they’ve moved my desk four times already this year, and I used to be over by the window, and I could see the squirrels, and they were merry, but then, they switched from the Swingline to the Boston stapler, but I kept my Swingline stapler because it didn’t bind up as much, and I kept the staples for the Swingline stapler and it’s not okay because if they take my stapler then I’ll set the building on fire”.
I always thought that Milton Waddams should run for office.
What true supporter of the 2nd amendment would behave so absurdly and thus tar the entire movement with his stupidity?
He is doing more harm than good. He may or may not be a supporter of gun rights, but he is definitely an albatros around our necks and he needs to STFU and go back under his rock. And he can take the open-carry attention whores with him.

If he could articulate his points better people may take him as a legitimate candidate.

At last! Finally Tennessee has produced a statesman with the educational level of Andy Jackson!
What a glorious day for the state!
“They are laughing *at* him”
Thanks to the Internet, many more people, other than liberals and Democrats, are laughing at him.

Why not link the official campaign ad?

TN has an open primary; I’m not just laughing at him, I’m considering VOTING for him!

You know, this guy would be the perfect, disenfranchised voters candidate.
What a way to send a message to the PTB that the people are fed up with the political process!
Seriously, if I lived in TN. I would vote for this guy in a minute. Could you imagine the nightmare he would be for the state legislature?

He might be a tad odd but I would have him rather then obama as president.

Patience for idiots is a luxury I cannot afford to indulge.
Sorry if that means I am abrupt with you.
