Obviously, need something better to do
DOJ claims Kindle violates civil rights. Seems the Kindle, like oh everything else on Earth, discriminates against blind people.

Sounds like the government for you. My favorite is the braille on the drive up atm machines. It took me a while but I finally realized what the reflectors on the road were really for. They are for the blind drivers who have to feel their way to their destination.

Just once I’d like to see the president appoint someone who doesn’t have their up their ass.

Actually the braille on the ATM’s makes sense – blind people bank too and if you have to take a taxi to do it do you want to share your PIN with the driver?
I don’t have a Kindle but I assume it can use the same defense my Sony eReader can use – it doesn’t discriminate against the blind because it can play audio books (albeit only through headphones in the eReader’s case).

KCSteve, it doesn’t discriminate against the blind because an LCD just can’t do freaking braille.
Just because someone claims discrimination doesn’t mean Amazon can call up the technology fairy to drop off some new magic piece of gear that will do what they need it to.

Except that the Kindle does do both audiobooks and Text-to-speech on headphones and built-in speakers. It’s as blind-friendly as it could possibly be.

If the Kindle discriminates against blind people, then I guess books must as well, right? Better dump them, too!
