This shockingly realistic machine gun and sniper rifle were confiscated by police from two children who were playing with them in a public park.
Except that they, ya know, don’t actually do any damage.
Under the 2003 Anti-Social Behaviour Act it is a criminal offence to possess or use any kind of replica weapon, loaded or otherwise, in a public place.
When toy guns are criminalized, only criminals will have toy guns. Wait, what?
I suggest a return to the longbow, in historical regalia, with an historian nearby to describe loudly how it used to be the law that English commoners had to practice with arms for the defense of the country, or face penalties.
Or just start being a criminal and enjoy your Airsoft toy.
Here in Texas I know people who are operating criminally when they shoot their BB guns or potato guns. They shoot them off anyway. The laws can be stupid in more places than Britain.
If even toys are illegal, and the law as a whole is laughable, an increasing number of people will regard it with contempt and go whole hog. The black market in England offers all kinds of goodies.

Heh. They actually have a law called the “2003 Anti-Social Behaviour Act”. And they wonder why we make fun of them.

Airsoft is still very much alive and well in the UK, just go to arniesairsoft.co.uk or look for “scoutthedoggie” videos on youtube

The lesson these kids have now learned? “Time to get real guns.” Ironically, real ones will likely be easier to find.
