“Although the names, addresses and signatures of more than 83,000 Cook County residents are required in order for the question raised by the petition to make it onto the ballot, the petitioner has gathered and submitted information for only approximately 2,500 people — many of whom are lacking valid names, addresses and signatures.”
I assume the signature of Mr. Snuffaluffagus who lives on 123 Sesame St may have been the tip-off. No way in hell they get 83(k) signatures.

Ah, but Molon, this is C(r)ook County, where every signature or voter for a Democrat-sponsored cause has a 20X multiplier: Those 2,500 people are counted as 50,000 by the county clerk.
Which is why the NRA is getting involved right now: They know the petition is already halfway there. 😉
