BUGs

Seen at James Rummel’s: Do you often or ever carry both?

About the only time I carry two guns is if I am open carrying at least one gun.

I nearly always have two within reach, but I usually only carry two on my person when I am going to places where the threat level is elevated. The local mall where I live is full of mall rats, gang bangers and various miscreants of one form or another. I try to avoid it all together but sometimes I need to go there and when I do I carry my BU gun on my person. also during the Crhistmas shopping season. I dont understand why, but for some reason this time of year gets a little crazy where I live(crazy dangerous not crazy busy or festive)So during the shopping season I carry two and a big sharp knife.

Thank you kindly for the link!

  3. John Smith. Says:

If you carry a revolver and a semi auto does that mean you go both ways.

  4. Paul Says:

Only when I go on trips to cities I don’t know well do I pack two guns (Glock and TCP.)

Around town I pack one and another is in the car console.

  5. Jim S Says:

I’m pretty close with Paul. I pack a pocket P3AT and an IWB Glock 23. Spare mags for both, but when I’m just hitting up the local grocery store, it’ll just be the kel-tec (for warm weather…any other time it is the glock)

I’ve started carrying my Kel-Tec as a “reload” for my Glock 26. Until recently I usually didnt carry two or a reload….. Yes, I know you cant reload a Glock with a Kel-Tec – New York reload! 😉

Used to just carry one, but next week, I’l be Carrying 2 (S+W 4043, Fobus Paddle w/2 mags in a separate carrier,Dan Wesson 357 w/2 inch barrel attached and 4 speedloaders in a surplus First aid pouch, but that will be stashed as part of my G.O.T. (Get out of Trouble) Manbag). Why? 50 mile commute each way, driving through one crime ridden hell-hole and being in the central core at the end of the drive. An Army Reserve friend of mine ( 3 Tours in the Sandbox) who lives a few blocks from where I’ll be said crime has gotten so bad there that He’s carrying 2 Glocks on him when he goes out the door, even to take out the trash. He’s also got an AR stashed on every floor of his house in Condition 3 with a 30 rounder in each. Crime has gotten so bad that the local Police told everyone that the response time for a 911 call will be AT LEAST 10 minutes, due to all the cutbacks. So what was the Mayor’s Response? 40 more cops get laid off in two more months! The Wolves are Definitely traveling in Packs down there.

Yeah. When I travel through areas where the social structure disregards societal rules, I have a Ruger SP-101 2 1/4″ (in .357 with Federal Classic 125-gr JHP), in an Uncle Mikes #0 Belt-slide, two speedloaders in matching black nylon, one with, shall we say, “VERY High Penetration” rounds from yesteryear, and my Kel-Tec P3AT in it’s DeSantis Gunhide #H701 anti-imprint pocket holster.

If, for some reason, I should have to stay in a high-crime area overnight, I have my Kel-Tec Sub-rifle 2000 in .40 S&W with me, and enough ammo to take care of business. When I carry it, the .357 stays in the safe and I strap on my Glock 22, and have compatibility with the carbine mags. Both of those Forties are fed 180-gr FMJ-Truncated Cone by UMC, although I have some Ranger 165s as reloads with the carbine.

When I travel through Kalifornica, I leave the Forties at home, keep the .357 and carry a Marlin 1894C, which is 2-4 MOA with those same Federal 125-gr JHPs.

Around Schloss Rivrdog, C3 defense is provided by a Mossberg Security 590. It will open it’s overture with #2 3″ Goose loads, play the movement on Centurion Multi-Defense, and finish the suite with slugs. In my inner sanctum, outside of the safe is my Izzy Mauser, loaded with Remington Core-Loct 150 PSP whitetail loads (no Geneva convention’s been signed by the gangstas). Of course, the gun safe and ammo locker contains many more goodies.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
