I’ve been in the ‘Glades down south and St. Mark’s Wildlife Refuge up north. Anyone that hunts gators with a bow and arrow has steady nerves, a cool head and is F**KING NUTS!!!
No way would I go near them with anything smaller than a 12ga. slug gun.
Then again gators are quite tasty when grilled or BBQed.
I’ve lived in FL my whole life and known people who’ve hunted gators for years. Didn’t know it was legal. Probably isn’t the way they do it. We used to catch small gators (biggest we ever caught was a three footer) when I was a kid with a rope. Hook a leg and flip them on their backs for a few seconds and they’ll pass out. Lots of fun, because it’s dangerous. But it makes sense to use a Bow, because there is always that risk of ricocheting bullets off the water.
