   Pretty understandable – he shot a spike, which in most of the civilized world we harvest to improve the gene pool, but against the law in the People’s Republic of California.

   Still, one should learn the rules where one hunts, so from that standpoint he deserved to get hit.

   I personally know of a case in Texas where a Game Warden knocked on a rancher’s door and said to the owner: “Grab your rifle, I wan’t to show you something.” The Warden showed him a spike in the thicket, and then, in clear deliberate tones, announced that the deer was hurting the quality of the herd, and was not in his opinion a game animal.

   Problem solved.

   Same with baiting. It widely done in many places – though folks in states that don’t allow it refuse to beleive other places do allow it.

   But as Skip said, Nuge should have been up to speed on what the rules where in California.

   Of course, he shouldn’t have gone ot California either . . . . but that’s a different issue.

   I don’t care for the Nuge. He strikes me as an ill-mannered damnyankee. I have heard rumors that he was verbally reproached by either Jeff Cooper or Joe Foss for using bad language at NRA board meetings when ladies were present.

   Fuck ’em. Don’t hunt there, don’t go there, don’t spend your money there leave CA to its fate. If the women can’t take the rough language they should stay out of man places. Ok, that last was a joke, but the rest isn’t.

    Lots of screwy stuff happens for hunting shows. It is why I don’t actually enjoy watching them.

    That said, I don’t think this upsets me about Nugent all that much.

    Narcissistic jackass. Plays guitar good. Wish I could play like him. That’s about it. No role model or anything to really feel upset about what he does.
