A Shooting In Brooklyn
Two choir boys, armed with toy guns, decide to break into someone’s house and discover that toy guns (even toy machine guns) are no match for a 38 revolver. I’m actually surprised at the fairly positive coverage in the press about the shooting. No hysteria at the WSJ. The NY Daily News, aside from the obligatory my baby didn’t do nothing, notes the law and that no charges will be filed. And Gothamist notes the deterring effect when a criminal’s insides are introduced to the outside.

New York allows use of deadly force to stop a burglary?!? From comments.
OTOH NJ technically has a castle doctrine, but it doesn’t seem to stop the prosecutors.
