Quote of the Day

Jon Stewart on his rally to restore sanity:

You may have an assault rifle, but don’t think it’s appropriate to bring to a rally filled with your unarmed citizen brethren.

    Solution: Everyone be armed

  2. TomcatsHanger Says:

Is he asking the police to not carry rifles?

  3. chris Says:

This is the way Beta males like Stewart think.

He spends an hour or so a day getting make-up applied by a make-up person.

He lives in a world where only celebrities and the uber-rich can carry guns and where many men get manicures, pedicures, facials and massages (not the kind which are available at Sister Ruby’s near the airport).

    Everyone else is defenseless.

He can have his world, but it’s not hard to understand his views.

Other people handle his protection and he is happy living as an emasculated male.

    AMEN Chris!

  5. Bubblehead Les Says:

So what’s stopping everyone from showing up armed to “level the playing field”, Jon? Oh, right, it’s Sheeple like YOU!

  6. ASM826 Says:

You may have unarmed friends, but I don’t think it’s appropriate to bring them to a rally.

“You may have unarmed friends, but I don’t think it’s appropriate to bring them to a rally.”

1/2 the church choir is armed on Sunday. Where do you find these unarmed friends?

  8. Huck Says:

Unarmed citizens are not MY brethren.

  9. Bryan S. Says:

Cant watch the link, but where is the rally at? If it is DC… then only the ruling class can have firearms there.

  10. Jay Says:

This quote is taken out of context. It means “you have an assault rifle, but you don’t think that that you should take it to rallies.” It’s not an order, but rather is descriptive of the type of person he is talking to.

  11. John Smith. Says:

I have armed friends but unarmed associates.

  12. ATL Says:

I don’t want John Stewart’s ilk armed. They may commit suicide and try to blame us for it.

  13. Michael Says:

    Jay,
My concern with Jon’s comment is not that it comes off as an order. It is that it comes across as, “it is okay to do what you want, as long as you stay closeted and don’t pollute any of the right thinking people with your wacko hobbies and beliefs”. You know, exactly like how Mr Stewart thinks that homosexuals should not offend those purile Christians with their flagrant behavior and PDAs. Cause its okay if you hold a position, but free speech, we can’t have that, unless you agree with him.

  14. Laughingdog Says:

Well, he’s right in this case. But not for the reason he’s thinking. It would be very inappropriate to bring any rifle to the rally, what with it being in D.C. and all.

  15. Jay Says:

Michael, he’s having a rally for people who agree with him. That’s sort of the point, just like it was with Beck’s rally.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
